Hey everyone, cool breezes here. Now have I got something for you. You will not want to miss this one. Its for the young and old, man and woman, and kids. It is the Lansing Center Boat & Fishing Show. This is going to be on April 11-13, 2008. At the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing. Boaters and fisherman will be able to shop for boats and accessories and all kinds of fishing gear galore. There will be outfitters to book charter fishing trips, fly-ins, cottages in Michigan and Cananda. Family features include the trout pond, the virtual fishing simulator, and alligator show and kids casting lessons.
Now dont this sound like fun. Heck I myself would just like to go into the virtual fishing simulator and finnaly feel like Iv caught a fish.!! Woo Hoo
Now tickets for adults is $8.00 and kids 6-14 is $4.00. 5 and under FREE.
Jim Bedford will be there, he is one of the formost authorities on fishing michigan rivers with spinners.
Bob Brunner will be there, he is in the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame and Guide. Now this guy has some things he can tell all of us to catch fish.
Dan Donarski, know as Mr U.P will be there.He will be on hand to talk about the best fishing opportunities in the U.P.
There are more speakers that will be there, so you need to go for yourself to see them all. Now there is going to be the Hawg tank, a 50 foot long aquarium on wheels. Yikes!!Tank is loaded with fish and they will show you how to catch them.
Now here is what I like. The Shore Lunch fish fry!!! A basket of walleye fillets to eat. Oh man, cant you just taste them. Hope I didnt get any drull on here. Sorry.
Also Antique fishing tackle display. Now this will be fun to see.

Cocoa Cottage
Hey Cool Breezes here. Wanted to tell you about a neat little Bed and Breakfast in Whitehall MI. It is called Cocoa Cottage. Beautiful little place to get away for the weekend and not to far from Lake Michigan.It is a 1912 Arts and Craft Bungalow, and has been beautifully redecorated.They offer you a quiet refined character,chocolate indulgences and personal touches that make this experience worth repeating. Larry and Lisa are the inn keepers and make you feel as you are part of the family.
Now the recipes are all made from scratch and with a pinch of Larry and Lisas creativity, that will make you wanting to come back for more. Makes me hungrey just writing about it. But you can either go-go-go or just sit back and relax,and keep that wonderful feeling that you get from the moment you walk in. I mean what more could you ask for, when you walk in and are greeted with wine, cheese and a chocolate rececption, and a hearty breakfast in the morning. Travel Tips
Hey guys and Gals, Cool Breezes here. Just thought I would share a couple of travel tips with ya. Lord knows we all can use tips to make traveling easier for sure.
1.A flight attendant gave this tip. Take the tops of your plastic toiletry bottles holding liquids(shampoo,lotion,ect)squeeze the sides,and put the top back on. The bottles wont leak during flight. Cooool!!!
2.When you travel, to protect your ipod, put it inside of a plastic soap dish container. Good idea!!
3.Before taking a road trip, go to www.gasbuddy.com for gas prices across the U.S.
4. Now here is one that I thought was weird but guess it works.Nylon stockings are great for removing white deodorant marks on clothes, just slip your hand in one of the legs and rub against the marks untill they disappear. Hum.
5. Now this is cool for you ladies. Drinking straws can keep your necklaces and braclets from tangling in transit.Thread each piece tgrough the straw and secure the clasp, and then you can secure them togeather by putting them inside a toothbrush holder.
6.Bring a frisbee along when you travel for your dog. Its a great toy, and can double for a food dish or water bowl when you make pit stops. Neat!!

Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train
Hey everyone,Cool Breezes here. You know i found something that I thought might be of interest to you. Its called the Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train. Now the only thing is that its not on the west side of Michigan. But thought it was of interest anyway to put it on my blog. They are located at 840 North Pontiac Trail,Walled Lake MI, 48390.

You can have a three to five course dinner meal. Or "Who Shot the Sheriff" A country murder, musical!!!
Then there are also different musical shows that you can pick from also. What a time to be had by all that attend. So it is live table side entertainment on your 3 hour ride. You can also book a overnight stay in one of the pullman sleeping cars and enjoy breakfast the next morning in the Kentucky Thoroughbred dinning car before you leave. Travel Tips
Hello,Hello, Cool Breezes here. Thought I would share a few travel tips Iv heard about. Maybe you can use them.
1. Now here is a hidden treasure, before you turn in that disposable camera to get developed, take off the thin cardboard and remove the batteries. You can usually use them again for something if your traveling.
2.You know many pet stores or a walmart usually have machines to engrave your pets name on a small metal disk. Well these tags can also be used to serve as luggage tags. Just engrave your name and phone number on it and pin it inside of the linning of your luggage. Then if it gets lost, you will still have the info on the inside.
3. Now here is a story I heard of and thought I would share. A mans wife had back problems and many airlines dont offer pillows anymore , or there isnt enough to go around. He packed Ziplock double-freezer bags in his carry on. After they were seated he would blow into the bag and close it partially,then blow a little more air in and close it up. Says its real comfy. Try it out and tell me what ya think.
4. Now here is a cool trick to help your kidss ears from popping on the plane.Before takeoff give them a sucker and the decent when you land.The swallowing tends to help relieve presure from building up in there ears. But before you touch down, take the candy away, just to be safe. Sounds like a good idea to me.
5.As your nieces and nephews begin to disgard their plastic, brightly colored music-download gift cards this year. Put a white label with your contact info on the back side and punch a hole at the end and attach it to your luggage as a ID tag. The colorful designs will make your suitcase stand out.
6.Use a empty Tic Tac box to carry a supply of toothpicks in. Its just the right size and closes easily, and then you can always find a toothpick when you need it. Ya Hoo!!
7Use a cork when you pack scissors. Stick the ends into the cork.

Cherry Capital Winter Wonderfest
Hello, Cool Breezes here. OK guys and gals, here is a fun time for you this coming weekend. It is the 2nd annaual Cherry Capital Winter Wonderfest!! Ya Hoo!! Its Traverse Citys newest festival!!
It is on February 15-18 -08. Its going to be a family friendly time of fun in the snow country of northern Michigan.
Access to the festival requires a purchase of a $10 button,( kids10 and under are free). But you know whats great about this, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Special Olympics of Michigan.
Im a telling ya there is a lot going on there. Here is a little taste of what you can expect.
Friday, Feb 15 from 4pm to 8pm is going to be the Outdoor Fun Zone. Activities such as ice skating,cross country skiing, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and Bonfires. All at the Grand Traverse Resort, near the club house, but make sure you bring your button to get in.
Now on Saturday, there is so much going on that I will for sure run out of ink to list it all. But in the morning from 10:00 am to 7:00pm the Outdoor Fun Zone will be going on.
From 10:00am to 5:00pm there will be winter carnival rides.Yep that is what I said. A Ferris Wheel even, if the weather permits. Now can you imagine going up on that baby in the winter. Now there would be some cool breezes blowing there. But this is also near the club house at Grand Traverse.

Nubs Nob
Hey everybody,cool breezes here.You know Im trying to mix things up here on my blog. Trying to give you a little taste of everything. Like bass fishing,trout fishing, links to Disney. Amazon, you know a little of everything. I have looked at a lot of blogs and they are pretty much strightlined in one direction. So I hope you dont mind,I just want to mix it up a bit.
Man I dont know how I got on that. But I found a neat little place called Nubs Nob. Now how do you like that name.But if you like the winter and I know a lot of you do, here is a place you can go for skiing. Its in Harbor Springs MI. But you might want to make it a point to visit Nubs Nob. They have been know to have the best snow around and have earned the distinction of being family-friendly mountain resort.
Now the mountain is fairly simple with an elvation of 1,338 feet and a vertical drop of 427 feet. That scares me already cause I cant ski.lol But they have 43 trails with 8 chair lifts. Now I understand that they brag about having the top skiing and snowboarding school in the country.
Now just because they offer beginners programs, dont be fooled, the expert skiers will be challenged as they glid down the sloops. Now they have night skiing as well. Now I cant ski in the daylight, let alone the dark.lol
But they have a general store where you can get gloves,hats, neck braces, oops I mean neck warmers, or even have someone to fix your skis.
But all this talk has made me hungary. You can go to the cafeteria and have breakfast or lunch or both!!
You can visit Nubs Winter Garden for grilled burgers. The Pintail Peak Warming hut found at the top of the Black Lift, offers homemade soups, sandwiches, and views that will just knock your socks off.
But the living is easy at Nubs Nob, so you can ski now and snowboard later or board now and ski later. What ever you little heart desires. Check this place out and see what you think.

They promise to delight you!! Wow what more can you ask for. Now they are located in Petoskey MI. Now they have great dinning options and a big list of activities for you. A winter wonderland of activities that include snowshoeing, dog sledding, and skiing of course. Then go on in and cozy up to a nice warm fire. Wow sounds good to me already. Traverse City Vacation
Hello, cool breezes here,hey are you looking for a place to stay for a weekend or a vacation in Traverse City. Well here is some Traverse City lodging that I might recommend. It is the Grand Traverse Resort. They have a new indoor water park!! Yes thats right. Getting to be a few of them around now, so you have a little selection to choose from. But this is a 15,000 square foot water playground. Man they have a 70 foot water slide!! Ya Hoo, hang onto your shorts!! A new flooting obstacle course, basketball hoops, a new zero depth playground for the kiddies. Also a arcade to play in. Now what kid or adult would not want to do that. They have some great packages to choose from. So please check it out. Also are you looking for Traverse city resturants? Well there is Applebees, Arbys,Big Boy,how about this one, Blue Tractor resturant. Yum. Oh and here is a great one, Boones Prime Time Pub. Cool Breezes here. I wanted to tell you about a place in Muskegon that you can go and have a ball. I think, if you dont kill yourself. lol But it is at the winter sports complex. The Luge is like a bobsled track. It was built first with the thought for training for the Olympics. But if you want to check it out to do there are some things that you have to do first to be able to partisapate. But you have to sign a waiver and proff of health insurance. Yikes, that scares me already. But if your into a different experience, here you go. Call 231-744-9629 to reserve your spot. There is a 2 and hour time block for it to happen. Cost $40 for adults, $35 for kids 8-18. So anyway for something different, try it out. Now this will for sure have the cool breezes blowing thru your hair and tears running down your face. Either from fear or the cold. Have Fun.

Valentine's Get Away
Cool Breezes here, ok here's the scoop. I give everyboy a little warning that the big heart day is coming. I got a suggestion that might work. Now this is for you gals as well as you guys. How about a get-away to a neat Bed and Breakfast. Now I see that Valentines day falls on a Thursday this year. So why not make a nice long weekend of it and go for a couple of days!! Now being its during the week you might get a good deal. Just think, no kids, if you got kids. That in itself should make you want to book one. lol If you do this you might even want to call ahead and have flowers or candy in the room. Wow would that make her happy. Course I like CANDY!! Well really cookies for me. That would win me over. lol But to really surprise him or her, you would have to keep this very quiet and do it on your own and not tell a soul. Hum that would be hard.
But give it some thought and maybe go out to a movie or get a spa treatment. Boy if my wife reads this I am in trouble. lol

Taste the Passion
Good Morning West Michigan!!! Cool Breezes here. I hope that your weekend went well as we will be getting some rain here the next few days I hear. But coming up this weekend,Feburary 9 & 10 there is going to be an exciting event going on the Leelanau Peninsula. It is a wine tasting treat.Its hosted by the wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula. Now, you will be given a souvenir glass to keep at you first stop. Did I say the first stop. Oh Oh, this might get you tipsy.But each winery will give you a special pour and a chocolate treat. Ya thats right ladies, CHOCOLATE!!!Now there is 11 wineries to visit. Oh man this might not be good. but you do them in any order you want between the hours of 11 to 5 on Saturday and on Sunday, it is between noon and 5. Many of the wineries will be hosting special events that promaote the winter atomosphere in there area.
There is going to be a special door prize drawing for romantic packages!! Look out guys. So try and get out there this coming weekend. There is fun to be had for sure. But do be careful drinking and driving. Let those cool breezes blow in your face and thru your hair.

Woman's Winter Tour
Hello again, cool breezes here. Now ladies this is for you. On Feburary 2-3 Crystal Mountain will be hosting the womens winter tour. Now if you want to shed a few of those winter pounds they are going to have all kinds of activities for you.On Saturday they will have cross-country and downhill ski clinics for ya. Also snow shoe tours. Ouch, that will give you a workout.Oh and here you go, a chocolate appreciation class. Now why in the world would they do that. Cause all you women love chocolate, thats why!! Then they will have live entertainment and dancing late into the night.

Mackinaw Island
Hey everybody, Cool Breezes here. Just wanted to add a little something to warmyou up. So thought I would add this Palm Tree to make you feel like your where it is very warm. Well did it work?? Didnt think so.
But wanted to write a little more on Mackinaw Island. This is one of my favorite places to go. In the summer I love taking the ferry across to the island. There are a couple different ferries you can go on. They all cost the same so it doesnt matter which one you take.
I mean when you step off the ferry, its like your transformed into being in a victorian town. You can spell fudge everywhere. Your mouth just waters up and the first thing you want to do is get you some fudge. Even though your waist line tells you no, you go do it anyway.
You can go up to Fort Mackinac where you can tour some of the islands history of the fort. I mean this thing is like 200 years old. Wow!!
Then there is the Mackinaw island butterfly house. Which is just amazing. The kids will just go nuts in here. Course I loved it just as well. But I believe there are over 500 different butterflys!
Yikes!!
Then you can take a carriage tour. You can take a one hour tour or a 45 minite tour. Then of course you have to watch out when the horses do their thing. lol But it is just a ball.
Then if you want to shop. Well now let me tell ya, hang onto your hat. Shops galore. There is Kilwins Fudge. They call the tourest fudgies cause no one leaves the island without fudge!!
Now where would you like to stay?? Well let me tell ya, they have got historic Inns to full service resorts. Bed and breakfast homes to cabins or cottages. What ever your need are, I think they can help you out.

Mackinac Island Winter Fest
Hey cool Breezes here. I hope all of you had a great weekend and enjoyed getting out and letting the cold breezes of west Michigan hit your face. Also that you were able to get out and enjoy all the festivals going on.
Well coming up on Febuary 1st on Mackinac Island they are having a winter fest. Never been there in the winter? Well you should check this out if you want to do something different. I mean its not like being there in the summer thats for sure. I mean in the summer you got biking, roller blading, hiking and all kinds of things going on.
Now in the winter its different for sure.Cross-country sking, snowshoeing, and some hiking going on. BUT this comeing weekend, there will be a good time had by all that come. At Great Turtle Park there will be snow vollyball, frozen fish toss, hum wonder what that is like. Golf, yes I said golf, and a great bonfire to roast hotdogs.
Oh and dont forget football!!! Yes there will be a superbowl party at Patrick Sinclairs Irish Pub, with plenty to drink and lots of food. I mean what more could you ask for. There are lots of places to stay, but you better call ahead of time to get a place. I would call the Mackinaw Island tourism bureau at (800) 454-5227. Great Lakes Air (906)-643-7165 provides service from St Ignace, Traverse City, and Pellston to the Island.

Well coming up on Febuary 1st on Mackinac Island they are having a winter fest. Never been there in the winter? Well you should check this out if you want to do something different. I mean its not like being there in the summer thats for sure. I mean in the summer you got biking, roller blading, hiking and all kinds of things going on.
Now in the winter its different for sure.Cross-country sking, snowshoeing, and some hiking going on. BUT this comeing weekend, there will be a good time had by all that come. Cool Breezes here
Hey everybody,cool breezes here. Yes I mean it is cool for sure. Again its -3 and we are suppose to get to a high of 27 I think. Hey maybe we can go to the beach and have a pic a nic!! lol Well anyway wanted to say sorry for not having a comment link at the bottom of the post. Will have to figure out whats going on with that. Still very new at this.
But if your not doing anything this weekend, head out to Cadillac MI. The noth American Snow fest is going on. Now make sure you bundle up. Its Jan 24 to the 27. There are suppose to be over 10,000 sleds on Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell. Also a Grudge race. OH that should be interesting. Pond Hockey, Ice Sculptures, and Kid races.
So if your just laying around with nothing to do. Head on out to Cadillac and check it out.
Also there is the Rolling Centuries Winter Festival in Traverse City MI. It is on Janauary 26, o8 of course. But if you just want to have a day of fun in the cold, there is horse drawn wagon rides, lots of food, and just for you people that like to be romantic. There is a candlelite snowshoe hike thru the woods. Burr, not sure if thats one for me. I think I would rather sit by a nice roaring fire!! But anyway check it out.
